COPT / The National Business Park Partners with WJP Restaurants to Support ‘Feeding Our Neighbors in Need’ Program

(Columbia, Md.) WJP Restaurants, in a joint venture with COPT, has launched its Feeding Our Neighbors in Need program at Fiero Mexican Street Food located at The National Business Park in Annapolis Junction. For every meal purchased, the WJP Restaurant Group will donate a meal to the Maryland Food Bank. Customers will also be able to provide extra meals through the purchase of gift cards and the signature Brownie Bites at Fiero. WJP Restaurant Group aims to donate a total of 60,000 meals, or more, from the combined sales at Redstone Gateway in Huntsville (45,000 targeted donated meals) and The National Business Park in Maryland (15,000 targeted donated meals).

“We have had an incredibly encouraging start to the program, with over 3,500 meals already donated at Fiero in The National Business Park, and hope to see a steady rise with the holiday season quickly approaching. The outpouring of support from the local communities has been truly heartwarming, especially given the obstacles that the restaurant industry has faced throughout a challenging year,” said Peter Nolan, VP of Marketing at WJP Restaurant Group.

Throughout the year, we’ve made a concerted effort to support our tenant communities and the various industries impacted by COVID-19 including hospitals and healthcare staff, distribution of COVID care kits for communities in need, and funding for food banks,” said Bill Barroll, Senior Vice President, COPT. “The restaurant industry is no exception, which is why are proud to support our the ‘Feeding our Neighbors in Need’ program.”

COPT’s Senior Vice President, Asset Management + Leasing for The National Business Park, Greg Prossner, added, “It’s exciting to partner with WJP Restaurant Group on such an impactful program. Fiero regularly provides our community of tenants in Annapolis Junction with fantastic food, and now they will be supporting those in need on top of that.”
