COPT's core purpose is
"Creating Environments that Inspire Success". As such, we construct buildings that are environmentally friendly and which provide a healthy indoor environment for occupants. Every new property we develop is built to meet the standards for Silver certification in the
LEED* program of the U.S. Green Building Council. In our existing buildings, we employ environmentally friendly cleaning and pest management programs. Sustainably designed buildings have been shown to improve productivity and employee satisfaction.
Additionally, COPT Property Management maintains our own commercial heating and air-conditioning controls and monitoring services for our properties. It is unique for a landlord to possess this expertise but we have realized many operational advantages from it. Most notable are the tenant retention rewards that come from our ability to ensure a comfortable work place.
