Stephanie L. Shack is Vice President, Associate General Counsel and Assistant Secretary of Corporate Office Properties Trust (COPT). She negotiates leases, sales contracts, financing documents and other legal instruments involving the Company. Stephanie joined the Company in 2001 as Senior Counsel. She was promoted to Associate General Counsel in 2004 and to Vice President in 2007.
Stephanie graduated with honors with a BA in Psychology from Washington University in St. Louis and obtained her law degree with distinction from Emory University School of Law. Following graduation from law school, Stephanie clerked for the Honorable John E. Dougherty in the United States District Court for the Northern District of Georgia from 1995-1997. After her clerkship ended, Stephanie worked with the law firm of Piper, Marbury Rudnick & Wolfe (now DLA Piper US LLP), where she was an Associate until April 2000. From April 2000 through June 2001, Stephanie was Associate Counsel with The Johns Hopkins Health System Corporation.
Stephanie is a member of the Maryland, Georgia and DC State Bars and the American Bar Association. She participates in several civic organizations including CREW-Baltimore and is a member of the Board of Directors for The Women's Industrial Exchange and the Board of Trustees for the Columbia Festival of the Arts.
