Karen M. Singer is Senior Vice President, General Counsel and Secretary of Corporate Office Properties Trust (COPT). She is responsible for all legal matters and supervises the Company's legal department. Karen oversees the negotiation of all leases, sales contracts, financing documents and other legal instruments involving the company. Karen joined the company in 1996 as Assistant General Counsel. She was promoted to Associate General Counsel in 1999 and to General Counsel in 2004.
Prior to joining the Company, Karen was with the law firm of Weinberg & Green (now Saul, Ewing). Karen graduated cum laude with a BS in Economics from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania and obtained her law degree from the University of Virginia, where she graduated Order of the Coif and was a member of the Phi Delta Phi Honor Society.
Karen is a member of the Maryland State Bar and American Bar Associations. She participates in several civic organizations such as CREW-Baltimore and is currently a member of the Board of Directors of Art With A Heart, Inc., Esophageal Cancer Action Network, Inc. and The Leadership Program of the Greater Baltimore Committee.
