Randall M. Griffin (Rand) is President and Chief Executive Officer of Corporate Office Properties Trust. Mr. Griffin was elected as Trustee in April 2005.  He served as President and Chief Operating Officer from September 1998 to January 2005, at which time he was appointed President and Chief Executive Officer.  From 1993 to September 1998 he was President of Constellation Real Estate Group until its merger into COPT. Mr. Griffin oversees all real estate operations, development and property management functions. 

Mr. Griffin's work experience includes 34 years of proven experience in the creation of real estate value through direct responsibilities in management, development, marketing and finance. From 1990-1993, Mr. Griffin was Vice President of Development for EuroDisney Development in Paris, France, where he managed and directed all non-theme park development for the 5,000-acre project. Mr. Griffin was formerly Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer of Linclay Corporation, a Midwest-based real estate firm active in urban and suburban commercial office, retail and industrial development, asset management and investment. He was with Linclay Corporation from 1976 -1990. 

Mr. Griffin is on the Executive Committee of the Board of Governors of The National Aquarium in Baltimore and the National Aquarium Foundation Board, the National Aquarium Society Board in Washington, D.C. and the Center for Aquatic Life and Conservation Board. He also serves on the Board of Trustees of the Greater Washington Initiative, the Board of Directors of the Maryland Business Roundtable for Education and BWI Business Partnership, the Board of Governors of the National Association of Real Estate Investments Trusts and the Board of Visitors of the University of Maryland, Baltimore County.

 

Mr. Griffin earned a Bachelor of Arts Degree from Ohio Wesleyan University and a Master's Degree in Business Administration from Harvard Business School.

Mr. Griffin served as 1st Lieutenant in the United States Army, including a tour of duty in Vietnam. His professional affiliations include Urban Land Institute, NAIOP and NAREIT.
